How we vet every contractor
Most homeowners have no realistic way to check a contractor's license, insurance, and real track record before they hand over a deposit. That is exactly the gap a cowboy operator lives in. We close it.
- 01 / Licensing
License verification
We confirm the contractor holds the licenses their state and city require for the work they do, current and in the company's name. An unlicensed crew is an uninsured risk you inherit.
- 02 / Insurance
Insurance check
We verify active general liability insurance, and workers' compensation where it applies. If a worker is hurt or your property is damaged by an uninsured crew, the bill can land on you. We make sure it cannot.
- 03 / Reviews
Traceable review history
We look for a real, recent, traceable review history across Google and the major platforms, not a handful of suspiciously perfect five-stars posted in one week. Recency and pattern matter as much as the average.
- 04 / Work
Work and area check
We confirm the contractor actually does your type of work, to a real standard, and genuinely covers your area, rather than driving two hours and cutting corners to make the trip pay.
- 05 / Accountability
Ongoing accountability
Matching is not a one-time stamp. If a contractor in the network starts generating complaints or lets their insurance lapse, they come out. The bar stays high because it has to.
Straight answers about vetting
Does vetting guarantee a perfect job?
No honest service can promise perfection on every job, and anyone who does is lying. What vetting does is remove the worst risks: the unlicensed, the uninsured, the ones with a trail of unhappy customers. It stacks the odds heavily in your favor and gives you recourse if something goes wrong.
Do you take a cut from the contractor?
Yes, and we are upfront about it. The network pays us, which is why matching is free for you. That model only works long-term if the matches are good, so our incentive is aligned with yours: send people to contractors who do great work and keep them happy.
What if I have a problem with a matched contractor?
Tell us. We track complaints seriously because a contractor's place in the network depends on it. Persistent problems get a contractor removed, which protects the next homeowner and keeps the whole network worth trusting.
